Why I Need To Do the Re-Fingerprinting for My I-485 Application?

I recently got a notice from a USCIS Service Center for Re-Fingerprinting after a long time waiting for I-485 application, do you know why I need to do the Re-Fingerprinting?

The fingerprint is normally valid for certain time period. The USCIS Service Centers may send out re-fingerprint notices to the I-485 applicants, even if they took the fingerprint only a few months ago. Most people just comply with the re-fingerprint notices and took another fingerprint, by assuming the security clearance needs.
